The Luminor Marina has been one of the most loved lines from Panerai, and this 40mm Quaranta is a strong challenger for its most versatile design yet.
Why we love it
Panerai, a brand that has rejected trends and danced to its own tune for as long as we can remember, seems to have finally thrown in the towel, and we couldn’t be happier. The brand is quintessentially known for its sleek Italian sensibility, recognisable design details, and substantially large-sized watches. But no matter how much one loves the brand and its timepieces, not everybody can wear a watch that’s 45 or 47mm big, leave alone 49. However, the last few years have witnessed Panerai humbling with its case sizes with the release of watches like Luminor Due 42, Submersible Bronzo 42, and Luminor Marina Quaranta with a case sized at 40mm.
Released in 2021, Luminor Marina Quaranta is the smallest-sized watch in the Luminor Marina collection that mostly inhabits 44mm models. Its stainless steel case dons a familiar cushion-shaped case with the signature crown guard. The dial also carries the signature sandwich construction with luminous indexes and hour markers. Due to the downsizing, the dial appears to be more calibrated with a neatly positioned date aperture at three and a small-seconds counter at nine. The bright lume and the clean configuration bolster enhanced legibility.
With 100m water resistance and an automatic calibre P.900, this Panerai Luminor Marina Quaranta is an ideal watch to add to your collection. It toes the line sporty and dressy, offering ultimate versatility with its moderate 40mm size.
This pre-owned Panerai watch shows some visible scratches on the caseback and buckle. However, overall the watch looks good in condition.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
