With its combination of rugged durability and refined luxury, the Panerai Submersible Goldtech is the perfect example of how craftsmanship and style can meet to create a timepiece that’s both a tool and a work of art.
Why we love it
The Panerai Submersible Goldtech stands out due to its use of Goldtech, the brand’s proprietary alloy that blends gold, copper, and platinum. This composition not only lends the case a distinctive red-gold hue but also enhances its resistance to oxidation and corrosion, even under exposure to sweat and seawater. The watch is crafted with a substantial 42mm cushion-shaped case, which maintains Panerai’s trademark presence on the wrist, accentuated by robust, squared-off lugs.
Visually, this timepiece strikes a balance between luxury and ruggedness. Its rotating bezel, crafted from Goldtech with a carbon insert, adds a contemporary touch, ensuring that the watch embodies sportiness while still featuring a luxurious undertone. The dial continues this theme, presenting a matte black finish that emphasises the tool-watch roots of the Submersible range. Skeletonised hands with two-toned luminous paint ensure legibility in various light conditions, aiding in the differentiation between the hour and minute hands. The sub-seconds display at nine o’clock and an integrated date window at three o'clock contributes to the balanced and functional layout. The subtle faux-patina on the markers and hands adds a touch of vintage charm without compromising modern performance.
Beneath the surface, the watch houses Panerai’s in-house P.900 calibre with a power reserve of 72 hours and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. This movement supports the practical needs of a diver’s watch while enhancing its suitability for everyday wear.
Purchased in 2024, this Panerai Submersible Goldtech PAM01164 has no scratches. The strap of the watch is also in good condition
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
