Exuding a quintessential Rolex look, this Air-King, which has long been under the radar, is now ready to come to light with its outstanding design and impeccable performance.
Why we love it
Rolex certainly knows well how to develop timepieces that can transcend seasons with their timeless look and appease even the most discerning watch enthusiast with its unparalleled watchmaking. Here's proof of the same - the Rolex Air-King. If you like your Rolex with a touch of colour and some extra character without forgoing the understated house aesthetics, then this watch is for you. This reference 116900, introduced in 2016, is a combination of elegant style and singular details.
As for the construction, this Air-King is a fully-armed, robust timepiece with impressive design elements. Measuring 40mm, this reference stands out on the wrist with its subtle yet powerful presence. The streamlined stainless steel body with well-formed lugs and crown further add to its luxurious mien. The black dial carries the signature configuration of hour markers at three, six, and nine o'clock positions and a bold Arabic numeral minute scale to aid the reading of navigational time. Worth noting is the attention to detail on the dial. While the hour markers are hand-applied, minute ones are meticulously painted; resulting in an appealing visual contrast.
The popular Rolex calibre 3131, a self-winding movement that powers this Air-King, boasts 48 hours of power reserve beating at 28,800bph. It comes with a perpetual rotor that facilitates bi-directional winding and shock absorbers. This workhorse movement lies safely inside the screw-down caseback which helps in making the watch 100m water-resistant.
This Rolex Air-King 116900 is in mint condition with no scratches on the watch.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
