A wider dial, giving way to a cleaner and sharper look, together with enhanced mechanism and refined construction, makes this Air-King a seriously handsome Rolex to own.
Why we love it
As a part of the Watches and Wonders 2022 novelties, Rolex released an updated Air-King, reference 126900. Updated, both in a typical Rolex way that includes small yet meaningful changes as well as in a broader sense, this reference gives Air-King a refreshing personality more suited to appease modern patrons.
Right off the bat, the stainless steel case here feels more angular and sharp. It is sized at a familiar 40mm but with a wider lug-to-lug distance. The increased width comes to the service of comfort offered by the bracelet, which now settles more easily on the wrist. More conspicuous changes are on the dial. Although everything looks the same at a glance, subtle modifications really benefit the cause of legibility and aesthetics. First and foremost, the dial space has increased due to a slimmer bezel; this enables the rest of the configuration to be cleaner and more legible. Perhaps in an effort to maintain coherence, Rolex replaced the one o’clock marker from “5” with “05”; additionally, the hands are more elongated and sharp. Unlike the previous model, this new reference comes with Chromalight luminous material on the three, six, and nine o’clock markers.
The biggest change came in terms of mechanics. Rolex replaced the calibre 3131 with the new-generation calibre 3230. It is a Superlative Chronometer with -2/+2 accuracy and offers a power reserve of 70 hours.
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
