Not many watches can add such high elegance via such a minimalist design as this vintage Rolex Cellini. We simply love its subtle form and the rich 18k gold construction.
Why we love it
Inspired by the Italian artist Benvenuto Cellini and his work, Rolex Cellini was introduced in the 1960s as a line of sophisticated dress watches. At the time, Cellini was the only model in Rolex’s repertoire that focused solely on aesthetics and luxury, being a time-only watch. Mostly rendered in 18k gold with pure lines and in a harmonious silhouette, Cellini was that elegant wristwatch that could be easily worn with dinner jackets, elegantly slipping under a shirt’s cuff. Of course, today’s Cellini is a lot more functional with its latest models equipped with a moonphase complication in addition to date.
Here we have a vintage Rolex Cellini from circa 1995 in precious 18k yellow gold. From every angle, the watch exudes perfection. It is finely finished with the case featuring smooth curves and a rectangular profile. The slender but angled lugs hug the wrist most effortlessly. It comes with a complementing silver dial signed with ‘Rolex’ and ‘Cellini’ in clear text and is furnished with slender hour indexes. Overall, the dial features a muted character.
The movement is a high-precision, manually wound calibre, which is not only beautifully finished but also works with supreme reliability.
This vintage Rolex watch is in excellent condition featuring a well-maintained case and a brown leather strap in fine shape.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
