It comes in a 36mm Oystersteel case that creates a pleasing presence on varied wrist sizes. It stays true to the original design with the inclusion of a white gold fluted bezel as well as a screw-down crown and caseback that aid the timepiece’s water resistance capabilities. The dial gives a subtle facelift through a blue background and contrasting applied hour markers. The coronet logo and date aperture are still visible at their conventional positions.

Regarding the mechanism, this Datejust 116234 uses the Rolex automatic calibre 3135. It powered most of the Rolex timepieces, including the Submariner and Yacht-Master, before the new calibre 3235 was introduced.
