Rolex honours James Cameron's journey to the world's deepest-known limit with its gradient D-Blue dial mimicking the bright blue top and stark black bottom of the ocean.
Why we love it
From Rolex's ingenious collection comes this high-octane Sea-Dweller Deepsea that knocks all the other dive watches out of the ballpark. Originally released in 2008, the Deepsea is three times more water-resistant than its predecessor to an unprecedented level of 3900 meters. It redefines watchmaking excellence with informed elements and modern capabilities.
This reference 126660 is the latest iteration of the Deepsea series. It serves well as a diver's watch thanks to an assemblage of technical intricacies such as the multilayered 44mm case, rendered in corrosion-resistant Oystersteel. While on the front, the case is protected by a substantially-thick sapphire crystal; the caseback comes with fluted edges secured by screws that can be opened only by a special tool owned by Rolex watchmakers. The patented Ring Lock system, unidirectional Cerachrom bezel, and the helium escape valve at nine o'clock reinforce this reference's functional supremacy.
The D-Blue dial is designed in honour of James Cameron and his record-breaking feat of reaching the deepest limit on the earth - the bottom of the Mariana Trench - in a solo dive. The colour palette echoes the shades of the ocean - a deep blue on the top and a pitch black at the bottom. In a signature style, the dial carries luminous markers and hands and a date aperture that sits at the characteristic three o'clock position showing the current date via a rapid setting mechanism. Finally, below 12 o'clock and above six o'clock, the hallmark scripts are added in a contrasting white hue to maintain legibility, while -Deepsea - is adorned in green. The automatic Rolex Calibre 3235 guarantees a 70-hour power reserve.
The Sea-Dweller Deepsea is a meaningful creation by Rolex that eloquently represents how the brand works continuously to push the boundaries of watchmaking and render timepieces that are groundbreaking.
Even with minor scuffs on the caseback, bracelet, and clasp, this Rolex Sea-Dweller Deepsea 126660-DBLUIND is in excellent pre-owned condition.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
