A compendium of the signature Rolex opulence and the ruggedness of Explorer, this bold timepiece casts a unique experience on the wrist.
Why we love it
In the recent past, we have all known Rolex Explorer as an elegant 39mm sports watch meant as much for adventures as for curated sartorial looks. But before Rolex introduced this 39mm version in 2010, Explorer had been a dainty 36mm since its release in 1953. So in 2021, the maison championed nostalgia by launching a new 36mm Explorer, reference 124270.
With a reduced diameter, this reference delivers the quintessential Explorer characteristics for those who love small-sized timepieces. Its solid stainless steel body is well-balanced by the legible black dial that shines with a pop of blue at night, thanks to the brand's Chromalight display. Signatures like the mix of the index and Arabic numeral hour markers and Mercedes hands add to the overall excellence of the watch.
The automatic calibre 3230, released in 2002, ensures accuracy in timekeeping is as flawless as the rest of the timepiece. This COSC-certified movement is kitted with the patented Parachrom hairspring and Paraflex shock absorbers and offers 70 hours of power reserve.
This 2023-purchased Rolex Explorer 124270-BLKIND bears light scratches on the case and caseback. Its bracelet and clasp also show a few light nicks.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
