Stay ready for anything, from discovering mountain tops to nailing boardroom style, with this Rolex Explorer in an expanded 39mm case featuring impressive aesthetical nuances.
Why we love it
When it comes to elegant sports watches that can also transition to luxurious dress ones in a jiffy, it's undoubtedly a Rolex watch that's leading the charge. Rolex Explorer - first released in 1953 - is an understated sports watch that settles quite gracefully on the wrist. While designed to deliver high functionality and reliability to adventurers, mountaineers, and explorers, the watch is equally sought-after for non-adventurous, everyday activities.
Having been a moderately-sized 36mm watch since its debut, the Explorer received one of its most consequential updates in 2010 when its case size was finally expanded to 39mm. A slight alteration, yet it rendered the watch more contemporary and sleeker. Six years later, the enlarged Explorer was again graced with some minor aesthetical modifications. This reference 214270 is a 2016 version with a 39mm case featuring all the essential elements of the Explorer and an exalted sense of refinement. The major differences between the 2010 and 2016 models were actually much-required design corrections. For the first time since 1989, the signature Arabic numeral markers at three, six, and nine came filled with luminous material; and the minute hand was long enough to reach the minute track.
The chronometer-certified calibre 3132 that drives this Explorer 214270 facilitates hours, minutes, and seconds functions. Along with a power reserve of 48 hours, the self-winding movement also ensures high reliability and unfaltering accuracy.
This Rolex Explorer 214270 has visible scratches on the case, caseback, and bezel. The bracelet and clasp have nicks too.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
