Explorer 40 by Rolex stands as a testament to the brand's unwavering commitment to meeting the needs and desires of its loyal clientele.
Why we love it
The unveiling of this Rolex Explorer 40 reference 224270 at Watches & Wonders Geneva 2023 marked a significant moment for watch enthusiasts worldwide. Responding to clamours for a larger version of the iconic Explorer, Rolex introduced this 40mm iteration alongside the existing classic 36mm reference 124270. This move is noteworthy, as Rolex typically adheres closely to its timeless designs, rarely deviating from established norms. The Explorer 40 caters perfectly to those who admired the original 36mm model but desired a larger timepiece to complement their sizable wrists.
Featuring a sleek round case and a smooth bezel, this Explorer 40 boasts a black dial adorned with distinctive Arabic numerals at three, six, and nine o'clock in lume. The luminous Mercedes hands crafted in 18k white gold enhances legibility. The watch is meticulously crafted from corrosion-resistant Oystersteel and elegantly paired with an Oyster bracelet. Lastly, the inclusion of the 3230 calibre offers a remarkable power reserve of approximately 70 hours.
The conception of this timepiece underscores Rolex's commitment to delivering on customer expectations with precision and reliability. This iteration of the Explorer not only meets but exceeds the desires of discerning watch enthusiasts, embodying the essence of luxury and functionality that Rolex is renowned for.
Please note that this Rolex Explorer 40 224270 has scratches on the case and caseback. The bracelet and clasp have nicks too.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
