Stay ready for anything, from discovering mountain tops to nailing boardroom style, with this Rolex Explorer II in a 42mm case featuring impressive aesthetical nuances.
Why we love it
As always with Rolex, modifications to the new Explorer II, released in 2021, were subtle and discreet. On the outside, it shared most elements of its predecessor, while inside was where most transformations were made. Replacing the previous-generation calibre 3187, the new calibre 3285 is a COSC-certified self-winding movement that runs within an impressive accuracy of +2/-2 seconds per day. Paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring and high-performance Paraflex shock absorbers further ensure unparalleled precision. Additionally, calibre 3285 imparts a whopping 70 hours of power reserve in lieu of calibre 3187's 48 hours.
Rendered in stainless steel, the case on this Explorer II 226570 is 42mm in diameter and kitted with a matching steel bezel that carries a 24-hour scale. The bezel facilitates the GMT function on this watch with the aid of a bright orange hand that serves as a pleasing contrast on the black dial, primarily dominated by a monochrome colour scheme. Black-rimmed, luminous hour markers in playful geometric shapes work harmoniously with the luminous handset to create a highly legible profile for the dial. Further, functionality gets strengthened with a date aperture at three.
What you should know
Please note this Rolex watch for men shows noticeable scratches on the bezel, case, and caseback. The bracelet and clasp also show some visible nicks.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
