The classic look and easy functionality of the iconic GMT-Master II, here in an understated and solid steel version.
Why we love it
In the watch community, it's almost a given that you love the Rolex GMT-Master II. This iconic travel watch, launched in 1983, seems to be only growing in prominence in a way very few watches have. Among the many reasons for such a legacy, perhaps the most significant is its timeless and non-complicated approach to reading time in other time zones. And also how, over the years, with the multiple variations, it has maintained that approach of simplicity.
Introduced in 2007, this steel version - reference 116710LN - ran in production for 12 years before it was replaced by the new-generation GMT-Master II reference 126710. At its core, this reference is an elegant travel companion that balances style and substance effortlessly. Holding the signature Rolex elements at the centre, this watch features a ceramic bezel with a 24-hour scale, a Triplock crown, a Cyclops lens on the date aperture that sits at three o'clock, and a coloured 24-hand. Rendered in stainless steel, the case is 100-metre water resistant with a screw-down caseback. Also, this was the first GMT-Master II to have brand name engravings on the rehaut, which is a recognisable element of every Rolex watch today.
Powering this reference is the famed last-generation Rolex calibre 3186. It provides 50 hours of power reserve and is composed of 31 jewels. Overall, this Rolex watch is quite wearable with a profile that's classic but understated while maintaining the charm and sophistication Rolex is known for.
This Rolex GMT-Master II 116710LN promises excellent pre-owned condition.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
