Rolex Lady-Datejust: Designed to complement the grace of every woman.
Why we love it
The Rolex Lady-Datejust, introduced in 1957, is an elegant derivative of the original Datejust collection unveiled by Rolex in 1945. The Datejust itself was a groundbreaking development, being the first self-winding waterproof watch to feature an automatic date display. The Lady-Datejust maintains the core attributes of the Datejust: an automatic date function that changes at midnight under the signature Cyclops lens, a water-resistant Oyster case, and Rolex's perpetual movement. Its design, however, is tailored specifically for a more refined and compact form, measuring 28mm in diameter to better-fit women’s wrists.
This Lady-Datejust is distinguished by its luxurious dial featuring diamond-set hour markers. The sunray finish on the champagne dial achieved through masterful brushing techniques, creates a subtle glow that shifts with the wearer’s movement. This watch is also notable for its Rolesor construction—a blend of gold and steel that has been a Rolex hallmark since the 1930s. The watch is adorned with a fluted gold bezel, a classic Rolex signature that enhances its elegant appeal.

Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
