Rolex Oyster Perpetual marries a clean, minimalist dial with impeccable engineering, making it as a quintessential symbol of sophistication.
Why we love it
The legacy of Rolex Oyster Perpetual dates back to 1926 when Rolex introduced the original Oyster, the world's first waterproof watch. Its name drew inspiration from an oyster shell, which is tightly sealed to keep water out-an idea that Rolex ingeniously applied to protect the watch's internal components.
The watch is distinguished by its minimalist design, which makes it a versatile timepiece suited for any occasion. With a case size of 36mm, the watch strikes a balance between being unobtrusive and noticeable, making it ideal as a dress watch that can easily be styled up or down. Its clean lines and elegant simplicity mean it complements both formal and casual attire. The silver dial, with its sunray finish creates a subtle play of reflections that enhances its appeal. The hour markers, made of 18kt gold to prevent tarnishing, are filled with Chromalight. The distinctive 'three-six-nine' dial configuration, adds a unique character, differentiating it from the more conventional index markers.
The watch's smooth, domed bezel, crafted from Oystersteel, adds a refined touch, maintaining a minimalist design that emphasises versatility. The Oyster bracelet, with its three-piece flat link structure, combines comfort and durability. Its Oysterclasp and Easylink extension allow for easy adjustments, ensuring a perfect fit throughout the day.
This Rolex Oyster Perpetual 116000 is in excellent condition despite the light scratches on the bezel.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
