Rolex sets the bar really high with this Sea-Dweller featuring a sizable 43mm case, a whopping 1220-metre water resistance and a highly precise automatic movement. An indomitable watchmaking wonder!
Why we love it
A sturdy case, well-designed dial and chunky bracelet inject aesthetical interest, while the unidirectional bezel, water resistance and COSC-certified movement elevate functional impact and performance. This is Rolex Sea-Dweller 126600, introduced in 2017 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of this iconic collection. It is a beast of a timepiece that serves as a reliable companion day in and day out.
A lot of design characteristics akin to the previous Sea-Dweller and Deepsea versions echo the signature, recognisable style of the collection like the black unidirectional Cerachrom bezel, luminous markers and hands, and a discreet helium escape valve at nine. But on the other hand, there are also details that are unique to this reference, adding a refreshing twist. We'll start with the 43mm case which is quite big in comparison to any Sea-Dweller we've ever come across (Deepsea excluded). To let this sizable Oystersteel case fit better on the wrist, it has been constructed with more subtle curves and angles.
On the black dial, in addition to the conventional features, quite a few novelties garner interest. Reference 126600 is the first model of the Sea-Dweller family to have a Cyclops lens over the date aperture, a significant Rolex signature that had been missing from this collection for so long. At six o'clock, the watch proudly displays its water resistance capability — a whopping 1220 metres. The Sea-Dweller script, also at six, is bright red in colour.
This incredible Rolex watch is driven by the in-house movement calibre 3235, a self-winding mechanical movement that provides an accuracy of -2/+2 sec/day. It is equipped with the patented Parachrom hairspring and Paraflex shock absorbers. A power reserve of 70 hours makes this movement even more appealing.
This Rolex Sea-Dweller 126600 is in excellent condition despite the light scuffs on the caseback, bracelet, and clasp.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
