Occupying a sweet spot between formal and casual, this stunning Rolex Yacht-Master offers versatility in spades.
Why we love it
In Rolex's select catalogue, Yacht-Master is a collection that often slips through the cracks despite its iconic design and reliable practicality. But, over the last few years, the Yacht-Master - with its exquisite models - has finally started garnering much fanfare, just like this reference 116622.
A previous generation Yacht-Master, this reference 116622 could be best described as eye-catching, with design elements that draw attention instantly. The interesting Rolesium construction is the first detail of note. It's a unique metal combination used by Rolex just for Yacht-Master watches, where the case and the bracelet are carved in stainless steel, but the bezel is rendered in precious platinum. The elegantly constructed bezel on this watch comes with a sandblasted finish carrying 60-minute polished graduations for a luxe contrast. Next, the dial in blue is engineered to spark curiosity with hints of red. At 40mm, this Rolex Yacht-Master wears like a balanced dress watch on the wrist, neither over-the-top nor underwhelming.
Apart from aesthetics, legibility is a big game on the dial. The hour markers and hands are supremely luminous, and the date window is neatly nestled at the conventional three o'clock position with the magnifying Cyclops lens. Inside is the COSC-certified automatic calibre 3135 with a 48-hour power reserve guaranteeing -2/+2 seconds of accuracy per day.
This Rolex Yacht-Master 116622 is in mint condition.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
