Rolex doesn't deviate from its solid and well-established design codes. But, when it finally did it, the result was fabulous - presenting a contemporary Yacht-Master with an Oysterflex bracelet.
Why we love it
Rolex is the paradigm of ultimate luxury, and with highly opulent timepieces released throughout its history, the maison has validated this notion. Therefore, Oysterflex's introduction in 2015 with the Yacht-Master reference 116655 not only re-imagined but arguably re-invented Rolex's design language, challenging how we have perceived the brand for so long. The Oysterflex is a patented, engineered material featuring metal blades coated with highly resilient and flexible elastomer. With the creation of the Oysterflex bracelet, perhaps for the first time, Rolex gave in to trends (athleisure) and deviated from absolute luxury.
This reference 126655 is the second generation Yacht-Master with an Oysterflex bracelet. And truth be told, not much has changed from the previous model, except this one is powered by Rolex's enhanced calibre 3235 in lieu of the 3135 found in reference 116655. The watch is rendered in the house's patented pink gold alloy, Everose. The beautiful contrast of gold and black creates a unique and appealing mien for the watch. The other elements that contribute to a similar goal are the bezel and dial. The bezel is an inlay of matt black Ceramchrom in a knurled gold frame topped by glossy raised 60-minute markers. The dial is pretty well-balanced and functional with luminous markers, distinct red text that jumps out, and the date aperture at three.
In conclusion, this Yacht-Master is a wholesome Rolex with a few distinctions that, if we may dare, make it even more appealing than a Submariner or GMT-Master. It exudes not apparent but stealth luxury with so much attention to detail it upholds Rolex's stature as the king of watchmaking.
Purchased in 2022, this Rolex Yacht-Master 126655-BLKIND shows no signs of use or scratches. It promises excellent pre-owned condition.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
