With a power-packed timepiece like this Astron, Seiko is defining the future of watchmaking. It is GPS-enabled with world time, dual time and many more complications. Need we say more?
Why we love it
Presenting technology and elevated watchmaking like never before, Seiko Astron is a modern timepiece, jam-packed with functions that’ll appease even the most critical, hard-to-please watch enthusiast. Originally designed as the first quartz watch ever, the Astron is now popular as the GPS solar watch that consistently redefines what and what not a watch can do.
Robustness and technical supremacy is the name of the game for this Ref. SSE169J1. It features a well-built titanium case with super-hard coating, complementing rubber straps with a three-fold push-button clasp fastening, a solid case back, and a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. For functional prowess, Seiko has placed one of its best GPS solar movements inside – calibre 8X53. This reliable movement provides an accuracy of ±15 seconds per month.
This GPS-enabled Seiko is furnished with a bevy of features that includes dual-time functions, world time function with 40 time zones, and easy and super fast time zone adjustment. But that’s not all. The black dial, equipped with luminous hour markers and hands, is also a nucleus of tech attributes. It has a date window at 4 o’clock, a retrograde day complication at 2 and 3 o’clock, and a multi-function register at 10 that displays satellite connection indicator, power reserve indicator, airplane mode indicator, and the daylight savings time indicator. In addition, it also has 12-hour and 24-hour registers.
This Seiko Astron is a cool, compelling watch and thinking of wearing it on the wrist is super exciting per se.
There are a few visible scratches on the case back and clasp of this pre-owned Seiko Astron SSE169J1, which otherwise boasts an overall very good condition and well-maintained rubber straps.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
