The Urwerk UR-100 LS is more than a watch—it’s an experiential piece that invites you to consider time not just as a succession of moments, but as part of a larger, cosmic narrative.
Why we love it
The Urwerk UR-100 LS is not merely a watch; it’s a gateway to the cosmos, blending horological mastery with astronomical insight. This avant-garde creation stands at the intersection of futuristic design and technical ingenuity, embodying Urwerk’s bold, conceptual approach to watchmaking. At the heart of the UR-100 LS is its signature satellite hour display, where time is showcased through rotating orbital discs rather than traditional hands. This dynamic movement across the skeletonised dial creates a captivating spectacle of mechanical precision, as the hours appear and disappear in a smooth flow of rotation. The octagonal titanium case, with its dramatic 54-layered black carbon DLC coating, lends the watch a rugged, industrial aesthetic.
What truly sets the UR-100 LS apart, however, are its astronomical displays. Urwerk goes beyond timekeeping, presenting a cosmic dimension to the wearer. The dial serves as a visual guide, indicating the time it takes for sunlight to reach each planet in our solar system. Mercury is reached in 3.2 minutes, Venus in 6 minutes, Earth in 8.3 minutes, Mars in 12.6 minutes, Jupiter in 43.2 minutes, Saturn in 79.3 minutes, Uranus in 159.6 minutes, and Neptune in 4.1 hours. Additionally, a separate slow-moving hand on the dial symbolises the speed of light travelling to all the planets, synchronised with the red-tipped minute indicator.
Driving this exceptional piece is the in-house calibre 12.02, a Planetary Turbine Automatic System powering the astronomical functions. With a 48-hour power reserve, the movement ensures both reliability and precision in timekeeping.
This Urwerk Ur-Satellite UR-100 LS promises very good pre-owned condition.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
