Upholding Urwerk's watchmaking madness is this UR-105 CT Maverick that takes you on a unique time-telling journey every time you strap it on.
Why we love it
"Unlike our other creations, the Maverick leaves our workshops in the raw. It's on the owner's wrist that the watch acquires its finish. It will be transformed through symbiosis with its host", says Urwerk's chief designer and co-founder Martin Frei on this 2019-released UR-105 CT Maverick. The Maverick has a titanium case and bronze bezel. Bronze is widely admired for its corrosion resistance and durability properties. But mostly, for how the metal beautifully segues into different forms over time, attaining a patina that is unique and charming.
Urwerk likes to run wild with its watch designs, as the house did with UR-105 CT. Its first two iterations - UR-105 CT Streamliner and UR-105 CT Kyptronite were widely successful, and Maverick joined the series as the third model. It's a remarkable feat of watchmaking, comprised of an impressive front bezel that looks like the helmets of Roman Centurions. It brings Urwerk's signature wandering satellite hours along with a power reserve indicator on the far right and a digital seconds indicator on the far left.
The caseback appears to have a futuristic vibe with two horizontally-placed pneumatic turbines and a lever, all of which are added to control the self-winding rate of automatic calibre UR 5.03. When fully wound, the watch facilitates a power reserve of 48 hours. Also, luminosity is the big game on the watch, from the front to the back, every detail is highly luminous to ensure the watch's unmistakable look is not compromised even in the dark.
There are a few light marks on the case of this Urwerk UR-105 CT Maverick. Also, there is a small tear in the leather strap.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
