Once again, Urwerk delivers with this off-the-wall timepiece - UR-105M - that shows as much as it conceals.
Why we love it
Though innovation is one of the most popular buzzwords in watchmaking, this art can be predictable at times. But the same is not true for Urwerk. A comparatively younger brand, Urwerk has constantly managed to offer much awe and shock with each of its new releases, making even the most snobbish patrons drop their jaws. The house's refusal to comply with the conventional has resulted in many astounding pieces, much like this UR-Satellite UR-105 M. In typical Urwerk style, this watch shows time through wandering hour indication based on a carousel. But in addition to this unique time display, there is a plethora of novelties to enjoy in this watch.
First is the design. According to the brand, the bezel on the watch takes after the shape of the protective armour used by medieval knights. Subsequently, this version of UR-105M, rendered in steel and titanium, is called the Iron Knight. It brings the familiar four-satellite system, where each satellite carries three numerals to mark hours. These hours move swiftly, contouring the minute scale which sits at the bottom of the dial.
While the front face only reveals hours and minutes, this UR-105M comes with several other functions that have been positioned interestingly throughout the watch. Most intriguing are the seconds and power reserve apertures fixed on the caseband. While one can read the running seconds horizontally, the power reserve is displayed vertically. Further, one can also find a reserve indicator at the caseback along with functions, like a service gauge indicating when to send the watch for a service, a fine-adjustment screw for the movement, and a fine-tuning adjustment scale to show the rate at which the adjustment screw has been turned.
As indicated in the watch name, this UR-105M is powered by a manual-winding movement, calibre UR5.01 that beats at 4Hz frequency and offers a power reserve of 42 hours.
This Urwerk UR-Satellite UR-105M is a pre-owned men's watch in overall satisfactory condition. It shows scratches on the case, bezel, caseback, and buckle. The leather strap holding the watch is firm and robust.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
