With a chronograph, world time, grand date, power reserve and El Primero movement, this Grande Class Traveller Multicity is a Swiss army knife by Zenith.
Why we love it
We have to admit that this Grande Class Traveller Multicity is one of our strong favourites amongst Zenith’s high-complication, brilliantly-engineered timepieces. The house throws a curveball with this multi-functional skeletonised watch, featuring the fascinating El Primero movement, bringing the finest of style and substance.
The Grande Class Traveller Multicity keeps the 46mm stainless steel case subdued, with a polished finish throughout, contrasted by the brushing on the lugs. Signs of fine craftsmanship are conspicuous all over, from the engraved caseback to the knurled crowns at three and 10 o’clock.
Protecting the dial is a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal below which lies a vision of Zenith’s unparalleled watchmaking. At the perimeter sits the unconventional 24-city ring. Unlike most world-timers, reference 03.0520.4037/01.C492 carries a swirling design on the city ring, facilitating readability. This ring is followed by a 24-hour disc that moves counterclockwise to display time in each of the 24 time zones. At the centre lies a guilloche panel that houses the signature open escapement. It allows the watch mechanism to be viewed from the dial side. The movement is El Primero calibre 4037. It’s a self-winding chronograph movement with approximately 50 hours of power reserve, 43 jewels, and 351 components.
In addition to the skeletonised chronograph sub-dials at three and nine o’clock, the dial also displays a grand date through a double-digit register between one and two o’clock. Further, a power reserve indicator is placed above six o’clock. Overall, this Zenith Grande Class Traveller Multicity, unlike many openwork chronographs, keeps things simple and elegant. With its complex yet legible personality, the watch inspires much love from discerning connoisseurs everywhere.
This Zenith Grande Class Traveller Multicity 03.0520.4037/01.C492 comes with a few light scratches on the case and caseback. Its leather strap is in good condition, however, the clasp bears minor marks.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
